Welcome to José’s Torta Mexicana, the next chapter in a flavorful story that began in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1986 with the original José’s Mexican Restaurant — a beloved family-owned establishment known for its warmth, authenticity, and genuine Mexican home cooking.

For more than 35 years, José’s built a legacy of authentic flavors and heartfelt hospitality that became part of Boston’s culinary history. In 2018, that legacy evolved with the creation of José’s Torta Mexicana, continuing the same family traditions with a new focus on the iconic Mexican torta — the sandwich that captures the soul of Central Mexico.

When the original José’s Cambridge location closed in the summer of 2021, the story didn’t end — it continued and grew stronger in Arlington, where José’s Torta Mexicana proudly carries forward the same mission: to share the true taste of Mexico through authentic recipes, fresh ingredients, and a warm family atmosphere.

Today, we honor more than three decades of history with a new, full-service dining experience and a menu that’s more authentic than ever before — a perfect blend of tradition, flavor, and modern Mexican spirit.
